“Womb Wisdom: The Transformative Power of Yoni Steaming & Uterine Alignment”

If you visited my website and read the content, you know of the many benefits of the Yoni Steaming protocol. This is just one component of the Traditional medicine of the Indigenous people of South America popularized in the early 2000. Vaginal Steaming and the Arvigo Methods of Maya Abdominal massage help each other accomplish the mysterious and sometimes daunting task of Uterine alignment. The Uterus is an extremely motile organ suspended by ligaments that attach to the Sacrum and Cervix. For optimum health it is imperative that the uterus be brought back into a center alignment.

This can improve digestion and relieve headaches or constipation, provide relief from PMS, irregular/heavy periods and Perimenopausal symptoms, and address issues like prolapse, fibroids, PCOS or endometriosis. During pregnancy fetal positioning is contingent on uterine placement and it also stands to reason that a shorter, easier labor will result from optimal placement.

During menstruation the uterus weighs about twice that of an empty Uterus and because suspended a tremendous amount of stress will be put on these ligaments during any strenuous activities. By taking extra precautions like not running on cement surfaces or doing heavy lifting during this time problems can be avoided. However, if there is a misalignment such as prolapse that can occur from repeated overuse this can be corrected sometimes with a single treatment.

I’ve seen women’s faces completely transform taking ten years off their appearance and wrinkles disappearing overnight. In Taos, NM last summer where I studied the therapy during a one-week retreat, I got to witness this when and instructor did the demo on a classmate. She looked so different the morning after her treatment I complimented her on how much more centered she appeared in herself. However, this isn’t to say that your negative beliefs from your past experiences or thoughts disappear magically as well. To the contrary.

The next day she tripped and fell – on her face – in class in front of everyone creating a disruption in her process and for the entire group. It was devastating to look over to see that just as quickly as her face had changed to that of a much younger and smoother skinned appearance, she went back to looking a bit out of her body. I felt so sorry for her and grieved that night when I could have just been grateful that she hadn’t broken her occipital bone!

So ultimately, I create a container for clients to do their own healing work because the physical body is only part of the process. The bulk of the work happens after you leave with the tools for self-care. To maintain your results, continue to apply conscious awareness outside the office.  And even when it seems like it isn’t working despite doing everything right you must never beat yourself up about it as there is an element of grace.

The results are ultimately up to divine grace which is why prayer and plant medicine are also part of the therapy. It might be that you are requiring 4-5 sessions before you can maintain your placement due to limiting beliefs like in the case of my classmate with a long standing prolapse. Or in the case of fibroids if you have a melon sized fibroid it is unrealistic to expect me to be able to shrink that down, we can stop it from getting any larger though.

Too often women are told that they need a hysterectomy simply because Western Medicine is not willing to take any risks. However, the therapy allows women take agency over their reproductive health with ultimately better outcomes. You get better results when you believe in the treatment that you choose instead of being told that you don’t have a choice to begin with. And allowing an element of grace means accepting that there are no guarantees in life as much as I sometimes wish there were.
